To expertly manage axial thrust, most impellers feature wear rings at both the front and back, complemented by a balance hole on the back shroud. For pumps where axial thrust is minimal, the rear wear ring and balance hole become unnecessary, optimizing design.
Our high-precision cast impellers guarantee peak performance, available in robust materials such as cast iron, stainless steel, and bronze, tailored to meet diverse operational demands.
There are generally two main groups:
1) "Flush" - This method introduces clean, cool liquid into the seal chamber, enhancing the operational environment. A secondary, typically downward-facing port often functions as a leakage monitor or vent, ensuring reliability.
2) "Barrier or Buffer" for dual seals - A secondary fluid is introduced between two mechanical seals to prevent air contact with the pump fluid, bolster seal cooling, and heighten safety.
Importantly, not every mechanical seal necessitates specialized external flush arrangements, simplifying system requirements.
Flexible couplings
Flexible couplings, unlike their rigid counterparts, accommodate movement such as vibrations and thermal expansion. This flexibility makes them perfect for scenarios with unavoidable misalignment between drive and pump shafts.
